The customs announced that the procedure new implemented is going to change again, it means, that the procedure will come back how it was before this new implementation and broadcasts.

Below the Brazilian Customs revised procedure: ( same procedure from 1 month ago)

1.        High Value USD 3000.00
Procedure: Consignments with valuation above the limit per law (USD 3.000) are returned to origin. However the customs will allow the Return only 15 days later as a penalty.

2.        Lack of Importer's Tax ID (VAT Number)
Procedure: Shipments received in Brazil without importer's tax ID (VAT Number) are returned to origin.


The new procedures will be applied starting this Tuesday, May 22th 2012.

Basically now instead of paying fines, the penalty will be the return of the shipment to the origin.
